At the RTC we have the privilege of preparing people to minister the gospel to others. We live at a time when the church scene is changing rapidly as the culture around us changes drastically. In this state of flux there is a huge need for godly leadership and for the multiplication of rock-solid, biblical, culturally relevant gospel ministries. That's what we want to equip people for.

We firmly believe that if people are to lead churches and minister the gospel they need to know the gospel well. The gospel needs to be a part of them - in their DNA. That means they need to know God deeply, personally and thoroughly because, as the title of one of John Piper's books put it, God is the Gospel. They also need to know the Bible well and be able to exegete and interpret it accurately, because that is where God has revealed himself and the good news of salvation for lost sinners. They need to know the times, and have an ability to think clearly and biblically about how to advance the gospel in our culture. They need to know how to minister the gospel with skill, using the particular gifts that God has given them. And they need in their own lives to know the difference the gospel makes as they are changed by it and increasingly transformed into the very likeness of Jesus Christ.

It's my passion to see our College life and all our courses shaped in such a way that the men and women who come to study here develop a deep grasp of the gospel in these ways. Then they will be well equipped to serve the Lord wherever he calls them.
